Competitive gaming is a fast-growing industry in the United States, and right now it is on the cusp of breaking out into the mainstream. One game has come to the forefront in the last year and changed the landscape of competitive play: Starcraft 2.
The sequel to the beloved game that launched the e-sports world in South Korea, Starcraft 2 has captured audiences around the globe. Released in July of 2010, the game broke sales records and gave the professionals an entirely new playing field to compete on. New leagues are forming, larger prizes are being announced, and industry is exploding.
Nine Hour Films was there throughout 2011, chronicling a year in competitive play for SC2. We'll be following the team Evil Geniuses as they train, compete, win, and lose. These are men who practice for hours each day, learning strategies, trying new techniques, and honing their gameplay to an elite level. Their skills are top notch, their talent undeniable, and their dedication unbelievable.
